Dream It, Be It:
Empowering Girls for a Brighter Future
Program Overview
Dream It, Be It: Career Support for Girls is dedicated to helping girls grow into strong, successful, and happy adults. At the heart of the program is the belief that there is no single “right” path—each girl has her own unique journey. Through a supportive and empowering environment, participants are encouraged to envision possibilities and take steps to “Dream It” and “Be It.” The program is designed to guide girls as they explore their potential, build confidence, and gain essential tools to achieve their goals in education, career, family, and personal life.

2026 Program Highlights
The 2026 Dream It, Be It program, held on March 25 and 26, was a resounding success. Nearly 40 girls from Saratoga Springs, Galway, South Glens Falls, and Ballston Spa school districts participated in two days filled with learning, reflection, and personal growth.
Activities and Engagement
Throughout both days, participants took part in favorite longstanding activities, including roundtable discussions with eight career experts. The program also featured sessions on goal setting, personal values, and building a strong personal brand, offering girls practical skills and valuable insights.
New Elements Included
This year, two new elements made a significant impact. The “In Their Shoes” roleplay activity, sponsored and moderated by Wellspring, allowed girls to navigate real-life relationship scenarios and practice decision-making in a safe, guided environment.
Additionally, the World Café exercise, led by Cindy Schmehl, fostered thoughtful conversations about fear. Participants explored the origins of their fears and learned to reframe them as sources of strength. When asked how fear could be turned into growth, courage, or empowerment, girls shared meaningful reflections, such as “Instead of being afraid of failing and feeling useless when I do, I can use it to do better next time,” “Think positive. Trust yourself. Be confident,” and “Question my fear. Do I really need to worry about it?”
Participant Feedback
The response to the program was overwhelmingly positive. One student remarked, “It really helped my self-esteem by reminding me I can do what I dream to do.” Another participant said, “It is definitely a way to express yourself.” When asked if she would recommend the program to a friend, another student replied, “Yes. Everyone should get this experience.”
